Jason who?
So, are they incapable of learning, or just don’t want to? In the latest Woke fiasco Country Music Channel has decided that Jason Aldean’s video “Try That In A Small Town” will not be played on their station. Their reason? They won’t say. But here’s this.
From USA Today “The network stopped showing the music video after Aldean, who survived a mass shooting while he performed in 2017, faced backlash for the song, which many perceived as being in favor of gun violence and lynching.”
“Not long after the video’s release, online critics highlighted the song lyrics as emblematic of songs heightening gun violence and lynching sentiments upon many in his rural, small-town fan base. “
Hmmm.
The left will use any excuse to censor and even ban speech that disturbs their world view. But unlike the demise of Bud Light, I’m not sure this will be the end of CMT. The left is using the magic race card and they most likely have Woke advertisers willing to stick with them.
I took a look at his video. It’s OK, but I feel it was produced to elicit the exact reaction that has occurred and whether they realize it or not the execs at CMT have done him a yuge favor. He is now a legend. Something tells me he will come out of this smelling like a rose.
I listen to all kinds of music, but like everything else in the modern world country music has been ruined by posers and Hollywood types who have no personality. I had barely heard of Aldean. When I talk of country, I’m referring to artists like Waylon Jennings. Like George Jones who was known to get hammered and cancel a performance every once in a while. Like the Man in Black Johnny Cash who did time for smuggling amphetamines. Like Bocephus, also known as Hank Williams Jr. Or notorious Democrat Willie Nelson who famously smoked reefer on the roof of the White House with President Carter’s son Chip. They exude personality. Today’s country music all sounds the same to me and just because you give up shaving for a week doesn’t mean you can carry the weight.
Talking about drugs, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the cocaine found in the West Wing bathroom. A lot of people were hoping it would be traced to Hunter. Get real. Hunter can stuff his pockets with powder and go anywhere he wants in the White House unfettered. Why would he need to hide some in a bathroom? The Secret Service obviously just went through the motions. Do you really think that they wanted to finger a friend of the President or one of his advisors? Of course not. In fact, I’m surprised it was even reported which leads me to think it was a diversion to take our attention away from Biden’s incompetence.
Besides, it’s a Progressive, Liberal, Democrat White House. I’m surprised that upon entry they don’t give visitors a welcome bag that includes a vial of Bolivia’s best and some Maui Waui.
This was interesting to follow but I had better things to do with my time.
