Scary, isn’t it?
I’m thinking about wearing this costume for Halloween. But unfortunately that is the junior Senator from Pennsylvania and that is not a costume. His name is John Fetterman and he is a buffoon.
If you will remember he defeated Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz last November. Dr. Oz , who is capable of dressing himself, was a regular guest on Oprah but she incredibly decided to endorse the liberal Democrat. Surprise, surprise. Not only that but Fetterman suffered a stroke during the summer before the election. This made no difference to the good people of Pennsylvania who decided even with all his weirdness and health problems he was the right man for the job.
Onward. The Senate voted Wednesday evening to reverse an informal guidance issued by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer last week that senators could wear what they want when voting or speaking in the chamber. The resolution, passed by voice vote with no objections, requires that ”business attire be worn on the floor of the Senate, which for men shall include a coat, tie, and slacks or other long pants.” It did not specify what women should wear.
Good for them, but it only took them a year.
But this ain’t the end. Fetterman has stated that he appreciates the compromise and that he will indeed wear a suit and tie while on the floor but will still dress like a slob and vote from the chamber’s doorway.
I remember out of respect for the office, Ronald Reagan rarely spent time in the Oval Office without his suit jacket on.
Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer should grow a pair, be a leader and mandate a proper dress code for the Senate. Or he could just keep doing nothing while Fetterman gives us all the finger. Which do you think he will do?
Man, I miss Ronald Reagan.
