It was an honor to attend the first Republican Primary Presidential Debate last night in Milwaukee.  As predicted, it was lively and even contentious at times but there was some real meat on the bone too which gave us good insight.

Because I am RNC Committeewoman for NC it is sticky for me to get too personal with my observations in a primary.  Bottom line, I support Republicans and want Republicans to win.   So I called my 23 year old nephew to get his thoughts on the debate.  Our young people and young voters are so important.  This is what he said –

“Vivek yelled a lot but made some good points about the climate change hoax and America first agendas.  Also liked that he would pardon Trump if prosecution were successful.

Haley schooled Vivek on international policy.  She appeared very well informed and came across strong.  Did not like her answer on Prolife.  Seemed very moderate.  Not sure about the Ukraine funding.  Prefer more of Vivek saying America First and funding a border wall and security over funding Ukraine.

Chris Christie – did not like at all. Can’t believe he is even on the stage.

Pence – did not like at all.  Did like the 15 wk abortion ban.  Thought he was Prolife.  Seemed experienced and informed.

Tim Scott – really disappointed.  I thought he would do better.

DeSantis – I like him.   I wish Trump were on stage because I would like to see DeSantis and Trump debate.

Hutchinson – who?

Burgum – gosh he seemed nice.  But no.”

My nephew said he thought DeSantis was his top choice last night, then Haley and Vivek.

BUT…..what about Trump?  I missed Trump last night.  I can’t wait to see Trumps Tucker interview.   Somewhere in this primary process, I think we need to see Trump debate the other candidates.

At the national RNC meeting in Milwaukee, the members are fully behind the nomination process.  We want THE PEOPLE to choose our nominee.  It will be a fascinating cycle.   One for the history books.   We are truly on the cusp of a critical turning point in our nation.  We MUST protect our constitutional republic.

Buckle up friends, it’s going to be a wild ride!
