Cage Match

Note- I had started this rant a few days ago, before it fell apart. I’m too lazy to begin a new one, so here you go.
This would have been so cool. In a bizarre turn of events the richest man on the planet and the 7th richest man were going to have a cage match. But it appears new developments in this bizarre scheme indicate that the fight is off. For now.

Let me state that I’m no fan of violence; I am known as a lover, not a fighter. Besides having a low grade infatuation with Battlebots and Clint Eastwood movies I generally find other things to do with my time other than watching boxing matches and sports events where the participants beat the crap out of each other.

This though, was going to be fun. The founder of PayPal, owner of SpaceX, Twitter, Tesla going against notorious liberal and enemy of the 1st Amendment, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Though the odds makers were calling for Zuck to prevail I was still hoping that Elon would be able to at least get in a shot or two and hopefully draw some blood.

I know that sounds harsh but my dislike for Zuckerberg is rooted in my disdain for what he has wrought upon society and how he has used his platform to censor conservative thought.

I remember being dragged into using Facebook kicking and screaming. Now it is impossible to not go online daily to check messages and converse with friends.  There simply is no other platform that offers a way to communicate with groups and people with the ease of FB.

I’m sure he couldn’t have foreseen the immense success of his social media platform and the unbelievably uncivil comments and diatribes from millions of keyboard warriors who bravely fight battles in their underwear sitting in their parents’ basement. Self- important individuals who, instead of stepping out into the sunlight of life, waste hours proving how knowledgeable they are, and instead of trying to win arguments through dialog and civil discussion, will “unfriend” those with whom they disagree. But he has used his power for evil instead of good, turning his product into a tool for the Democrat Party.

Anyway, it looks as though Musk is wisely rethinking his challenge against the younger Zuck. But wouldn’t it great if instead of taking him on in the ring he did what he does so well and buys a majority stake in Meta? He could then return Facebook to an unbiased and uncensored social media platform.

I guess that would be almost as satisfying.
